Hi, I'm Amy, a graphic designer and content creator from Stoke-On-Trent and Cardiff Met Graphic Communication Graduate.
My work is an extension of who I am and what I believe in. Human connection is the driving force for everything that I do, and my work connects creative concepts to tangible outcomes, that in turn connect with their defined target audience.  My favourite thing about being a designer is that I am always learning. Whether this is learning a new practical skill and piece of software or learning about a new demographic and subject matter through my research. Being able to apply this learning visually in a way which connects with a target audience is a feeling like no other.

Where it all started...

I've always been an optimistic, creative and playful person whilst also being very business mined. When I was about 4 years old I decided to stop wasting time and make my own business, where I charged my family members 50p to look at my teddies, and £1 to hold one. Unfortunately this business collapsed after two days when I ran out of family members to exploit, and since then I've been looking for my next business venture.

Fast forward to 14 year old Amy, who loved to sit and watch the apprentice with her dad and partake in the shared experience of cringing at the awful design outcomes directed by candidates. But in this she saw a job roll of a graphic designer, and this set the direction for the rest of her life.

After surviving high school and managing to cling onto my creativity and positivity, I went and studied Theatre and Graphic Design BTECS at Stoke-On-Trent sixth form college. Here I absolutely thrived, generated a wealth of opportunities for myself and fell further in love with graphic design and visual communication (as well as scoring myself a triple distinction star).

At 18 I then moved to Cardiff to study Graphic Communication, and I have had the best 3 years and learnt so much. As I always do, I took initiative- which has given me opportunities to be a student ambassador, student content creator, degree show rep and also take on a commission from the university for an instructional graduation video. So it's safe to say I definitely made the most of my degree! And that just sums me up really. I give my absolute all to everything that I do and bring passion and energy wherever I can.
Hobbies and Interests

I love a lot of things, and I'm sure there are many things that I have yet to learn to love. But my biggest passion after graphic design has to be theatre. I love the performing arts, and it has taught me so much over the years, I simply would not be the same without it. Theatre has taught me teamwork, communication, playfulness, taking direction, confidence, public speaking, and ultimately how to walk into a cast of people I don't know and adapt to the dynamic. I am so grateful for theatre and the friendships I have made in this.

I am also a proud veggie legend. I love animals (especially lambs and ducks) and I love nature and our environment. I am passionate about caring for it and understanding my social responsibility as a visual communicator to create work which has a positive impact on our environment and on society. I wrote my dissertation on designers' social responsibility to combat greenwashing, to better prepare myself for the challenges of industry.
Content Creation

Becoming a student content creator was an incredible opportunity for me, and really opened my eyes to the world of digital marketing. Within this role I found a love for creating content and connecting with a target audience. Check out some of my work over on my instagram:
